Free groceries for families in the Fort Atkinson School District

The pantry is open Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 5:30 at 715 Jones Avenue. There is no cost, and you do not need to fill out any paperwork ahead of time. If you live in the school district and need food, you are welcome here.

How to get food

  1. Order online or come in. You can choose the items your family needs on our order form, or you can come to the pantry during open hours and pick out food in person.
  2. Pick up on Monday or Thursday. Come to 715 Jones Avenue between 3:00 and 5:30 PM. If you ordered online, your groceries will be packed and ready for you.
  3. Come back when you need to. There is no limit on how often you can visit the pantry.

Who can use the pantry

The pantry serves anyone living in the Fort Atkinson School District who needs food. You do not have to explain your situation or show proof of income.

Each month the pantry serves about 216 families, or roughly 667 people. During the school year, about 160 children also receive extra food to take home each week.

About the pantry

The Fort Atkinson Food Pantry is a non-sectarian effort of the churches and organizations of the Fort Atkinson School District. Its purpose is to provide food, on an emergency basis, to anyone in the district determined to be in need.

Seven area congregations share the work of running the pantry. Food and funding come from Jones Dairy Farm, local businesses, clubs, and many individual donors. The pantry also participates in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), a USDA program administered by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
